Chapter 3

The machine grew and consumed nearly every corner of the planet, and no man could live outside the machine. Those that did not want to participate within the palace were not given their freedom but held in bondage with minimal food and light.

Man created his own rules and held law breakers in a different type of bondage. The palace sent innocent men to prison and set guilty men free. Such was mans laws. Those that made the laws within the palace became corrupted, and broke their own rules but were not punished.

Anyone not contributing to the palace were brought to public view and scorned. Man looked at man and hated him for using money from the machine. So man could identify those who contributed and those who did not, they adorned themselves with symbols of the palace.

Poor men became frightened and mimicked the symbols, as he did not want to stand out and could not bear the shame of not contributing. © 2010
